Ummmm...I seem to have lost my touch for PDA's......if this seems a little ranty I apologize.

This day, last year....I haven't known happiness like that at all throughout my life. I was on top of the world, I had the girl of my dreams right in my arms. February the 14th, 2008 was the day I popped 'the question' to the love of my life. And for good reason.

Before that day, we'd never been 'together' on Valentines Day. I wanted to make our first one the most memorable I could. She woke up to chocolates and a card, we went shopping at the mall and shared a banana split. Then later that night I took her to one of our fancier local restaurants. I'm not sure if she noticed, but I was nervous as crap. I really wanted to make sure she was happy. I even made dinner reservations a few weeks in advance.

When we got home I stopped her at the door and tried to get the words out. It all happened so fast that I barely remember it. I was relieved to get it out...and even moreso that she said yes. (I'm the luckiest man alive!)

But yeah....on to the picture. I originally had the idea to just depict the proposal, but for some reason I couldn't get a sketch down for it. So this is to represent the eventual marriage. Bradley and Carla are used of course. I feel bad for my brown pencils <<;....they were so abused here.

I tried to do the picture from a different perspective than usual. The side-by-side wasn't working for me, so I was sorting through my art books and found a pose similar to this. What was supposed to be caressing turned into a post-wedding dance. (BTW....I can't dance)

I wanted to make the focus of the picture Carla(Cari), Bradley is a pretty boring design. I loved how she turned out, its all about her face! The smile, the loving look in her eye...*fawns over Cari*

So yeah....Happy Valentines Day hun! I hope that next year we won't be so far apart to enjoy it. ;D

Bweeeee :love: Go you for busting your ass all day to get it done! :XD: I approve 8D Heh... I don't mean to sound self glorifying or anything... but I do love your PDA rants in journals/deviations... just because you can be adorably sweet in them :aww: That and it's cool to hear what events sound like from your POV~ But yes... poor you being so nervous! ^^; I was a little bit nervous too, since I got the vibe you might do it 8D; (your mom saying "Good luck" before we went out to dinner didn't help! xD) Hence I was all "Lulz, how/when is it he gonna do it? :O *gets jittery*" But seriously, it was one of our best days/dates ever hunny :hug: You really did spoil me and I loved every minute of it :3 *can't wait til we're able to do dates again!* I couldn't have been happier~ And the proposal was so cute! You poor nervous little Waggles ^^; I would've been a mental wreck in your position as well. *pets* And oh... you were originally gonna do the proposal? ;) Awww, that would've been sweet too! (I should get you to draw it another time then ^^) It's funny... I was actually contemplating on that myself for my picture! :giggle: But I went for the snuggles instead~ But seriously... this was a wonderful scene to depict! :excited: (especially with all our plotting lately. APRIL NEEDS TO GET HERE NAOW! :|) I'm sorry if I sounded like I was picking on the dress earlier, I've just honestly not seen a dress with two sets of straps XD For all we know, there probably is some out there, and I'm a jerk :lol: But really though... I LOVE the big poofy sleeve part ^^ It looks so pretty on her. And the cream colour of the dress is perfect! It looks so nice, especially on Carla's fur tones :nod: You even got my necklace and ring in there very nicely! ^^ And her hair just looks gorgeous here... really frames her face~ I still love how her one ear is petting the top of Bradley's hair *which is especially soft and scruffy looking for petting winz!* Great back view pose on Bradley's part... those are hard to draw! And I still love how good Carla's hands came out! The whole carassing fingers and petting just looks so great ;; *ENVIES* Damn hands and their difficultness XD *hit* And I agree, side to side angle/perspective just wouldn't have been as good for this. The slightly areal view just really completes the theme of this piece. The balcony looks great (your wood patterns still kick ass!), and I still love your knack for doing backgrounds in just pencil, with no ink. It really makes for a great touch :) (I'm still insistent that those little shrubs in the dirt are heads of lettuce and that Carla's totally going to hijack them afterwards |D *bricked*) The tree and the mossy stones are especially nice! But yes... this was a lovely Valentine's Day surprise baby! :glomp: The only thing that could've made it better is if you were here with it :heart::heart::heart:
